1. Overview :
- There are two versions of Medical Database Seven, Server Edition and Network Edition. Server edition is the main application. Network edition is intended for those who wish to install the application in more than one workstation. Network Edition is unable to function without installation of Server edition. You are required to purchase both editions for network use.
- Please read the End User License Agreement carefully. By downloading Medical Database "Seven" you agree to the terms of this license agreement.
2. Medical Database "Seven" - Requirements
Hardware
The minimum system requirements for running Medical Database Seven are:
- Pentium IV class CPU
- 512 MB RAM
- 1024x768 screen resolution
- 100 MB hard drive space
Software
The following software must be installed on your system to run Medical Database Seven:
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista
- Microsoft Access 2003 or 2007
- Microsoft Outlook 2003 or 2007 (optional)
- Microsoft Excel 2003 or 2007 (optional)
3. Installation
A. Before running the application for the first time, please read carefully the Readme file found in the installation directory (usually C:\MDbaseSeven).
B. Install Medical Database "Seven" by double clicking on the downloaded setupS..........exe. During application start-up you must identify yourself by entering the default user account name and password at Logon Screen.
You can find user accounts and default passwords in Readme file in the application directory after installation.
C. The Server Edition employs two main files, CodeMD.mde and DataMD.mdb. The CodeMD.mde is the application database (front-end) and the DataMD.mdb is the Data database (back-end). If you install the application in its default installation folder (C:\MDbaseSeven) the CodeMD.mde is linked automatically with DataMD.mdb. If you change the default folder when the application is opened, the new path for DataMD.mdb should be supplied in opening dialog form. See Video Tutorial .
The Network Edition employs one main file the CodeMDclient.mde. When the application is opened, the path for DataMD.mdb at Server Edition network location should also be supplied in opening dialog form.
D. Due to the multi-user configuration of Medical Database "Seven", it is recommended not to change the default installation directory C:\MDbaseSeven during initial installation. For the average user, the initial configuration shall suffice. In any case, do not install Medical Database "Seven" in Windows default directories (Program Files, My Documents, Documents and Settings).
E. Activation special note! This Software requires activation and will only operate for a finite period of time prior to Software activation by you. During activation, you will provide your unique Serial key accompanying the Software receipt. If you do not complete the activation within the finite period of time, the Software will cease to function until activation is complete, which will restore Software functionality.
4. Security warnings
Our software is Digitally Signed with a COMODO Certificate. You must add Biosoftworld to your list of trusted publishers in order the Access ICD-9-CM Coder to function properly. Trusted Software vendors and individual developers must digitally sign and timestamp the software they distribute over the Internet.
When running the application for the first time, you may receive the following Access or Windows security warnings.
5. Network Installation
Install the main application (Server Edition) in a shared folder or hard disk in a UPS protected PC ( Never in Windows default directories like Program Files, My Documents, Documents and Settings).
To turnFolder Sharing on or off in Windows XP Professional, follow these steps:
1. Right-click the folder, and then click Sharing and Security.
2. Click Share this folder in the network.
3. Select a name for the shared folder.
To turn Folder Sharing on or off in Windows Vista, follow these steps:
1. Right-click any folder and click Share.

If you’re not password protecting your shares click Share in the File sharing window.

If you are password protecting your shares select the individual users you want to have access to this share from the drop down list next to the Add button.

Click Share.
2. Install the network application (Network Edition) in each workstation. For this procedure you cannot use a copy of the front-end database from the default installation. You are required to purchase the special separate application provided for network installation (Network Edition) and run separate installations for each workstation. Remember only one Data file (DataMD.mdb) must exist in the whole network.

3. When you start the application for the first time from each workstation, you are required to relink tables from DataMD.mdb for each workstation. See Video Tutorial.
In special cases you can also use the application’s toolbar button Re-Link Tables (only recommended for advanced users).
- Click Re-Link Tables
- Select the Always prompt for new location check box.
- Select the check box for the tables whose links you want to change, and then click OK.
- In the Select New Location of <table name> dialog box, specify the new location, click Open, and then click OK.
6. Windows Vista compatibility
Medical Database "Seven" package is tested and run on Windows Vista.
7. To Uninstall Medical Database "Seven"
- Click the uninstall icon found in the Start menu, in Programs / Medical Database "Seven".
OR
- Click the [Start] button.
- Select Settings > Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- Click Install/Uninstall.
- Then select Medical Database "Seven" from the list of programs that can be automatically removed.
- Click the [Remove...] button to uninstall Medical Database "Seven".
