Software
The following software must be installed on your system to run Medical Database Seven:

Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Vista or Windows 7 (32bit - 64bit. |
In case of 64Bit architecture you must install the program in: C:\Program Files (x86)\MDbaseSeven
Networking

Networked versions require a TCP/IP network. |

Networked versions require that each workstation have a Workstation installation of Medical Database Seven installed on it. |

Networked versions require that only one Full installation of Medical Database Seven installed on the networked computers. |
Installation types
There are two installation types during setup for Medical Database “Seven”, Full installation and Workstation installation .
Full installation is for the main user and install among other files the data file DataMD.mdb .
Workstation installation is for client computers ( If you have 2 or more computer in your medical office, and want multiple users can access and share information ) and does not contains the DataMD.mdb . You must Relink for each workstation the data tables from DataMD.mdb
Full Installation for one user:

Make sure the hardware and software requirements are fulfilled. |

Uninstall any previous versions you may have installed on your computer. |

Install Medical Database "Seven" by double clicking on the downloaded Setup........exe .and choose Full Installation . |

Due to multi user configuration of Medical Database "Seven" it is recommended to do not change the default installation directory C:\MDbaseSeven during initial install. For the average user the initial configuration is more than enough. In any case do not install Medical Database "Seven" in Windows default directories (Program Files, My Documents, Documents and Settings). You can change everything you want later if you now what is a multi user configuration for Microsoft Access. |
Network setup. Installation for multiple users:
If you have 2 or more computer in your medical office, and want multiple users can access and share information, then read the following informations:
You will run Medical Database Seven from one main computer (your host computer or “server”), and all other computers will access the program over the network through a Workstation Installation . Once Medical Database Seven has been installed on the network, all maintenance procedures for the data file may only be run from the Host/Server (side of full installation) computer.
To set up Medical Database Seven in a network, you must ensure that at least one computer is installed as the server (full installation) and the rest as clients. This means that the server computer will be the one storing all the information (created, modified and saved by users on other computers) in its database.The other client computers would not save any information on their own, but would access this information from the server. Deciding which computer will be the server and which others will be the clients is important. The following steps highlight this:
Note: The first time you run Medical Database Seven after a Workstation Installation , you will be prompted to provide the path for data tables. See the following instructions and tutorials.
1. Decide which computer in your network is going to act as the server ( a UPS protected PC with high performance be the server) and perform a Full Installation in a shared folder or hard disk ( Never in Program Files ).
To turn Folder Sharing on or off in Windows XP Professional , follow these steps:
1. Right-click the folder, and then click Sharing and Security.
2. Click Share this folder in the network .
3. Select a name for the shared folder.
To turn Folder Sharing on or off in Windows Vista , follow these steps:
1. Right-click any folder and click Share .
2. If you’re not password protecting your shares click Share in the File sharing window.
3. If you are password protecting your shares select the individual users you want to have access to this share from the drop down list next to the Add button.
4. Click Share .
2. Perform a workstation installation in each client workstation. Important: only one Full installation must exist on your network !
3 . When you start the application for the first time from each workstation, you are required to re link tables from DataMD.mdb for each workstation (Consult User Manyal or Tutorials ).

Medical Database "Seven" package is tested and run on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
